One of the most tedious jobs in a department is the routine replenishment and ordering process. This is usually carried out by a senior member of the nursing staff (often the nurse unit manager). This is a highly inappropriate use of a diminishing and costly member of the staff.
By scanning device consumption at the point of use and uploading to a central web server database, information is accumulated which enables the smart systems in the hTrak web environment to aggregate consumption and prepare requisitions and/or purchase orders ready for processing by the authorised person(s). These documents are assembled and processed according to business rules established by the client. An automated workflow can be implemented which mimics the current manual processes but with a much higher degree of data integrity.
In cooperation with the Supply Department, this process can be fully automated through the uploading of period contract or blanket order information to our web server. These orders are processed according to client business rules and can be controlled through the application of quantity, duration or dollar limitations. This has a tremendous impact on the workload for both the departmental and supply department staff with processing costs being reduced by as much as 85%.
