All device activity in the client departments is tracked and recorded through the scanning process, similar in principle to a supermarket checkout, is aggregated at the server level and is available for viewing by authorised personnel as usage reports, for instance. This data provides Supply Managers with a rich vein of usage data (reports and filters) across all classifications of devices, non‐stock, consignment stock, loan stock, supplier, category or procedure, virtually real time. This data can be downloaded in a variety of formats and can be used as the source of contract management data, as well as usage audit trails. This is also extremely important when tracking costed activity against a range of budgetary requirements.

Analysis of the activity in most high cost procedure areas would reveal the existence of the 80/20 rule in relation to device consumption. The tracking of usage over a period of time will facilitate the identification of those devices which could logically be covered by a period contractual arrangement.

The information available in the hTrak database will allow clients to negotiate meaningful contracts and obtain pricing and service level agreements which can underpin the reliable replenishment processes facilitated by the hTrak application.

At any time, authorised persons can access the web server and monitor activity against these contracts. This is particularly useful at contract review time or when issues arise requiring a contract to be revisited.

A range of reports and filters provide authorised users with access to device usage information virtually real time. Information can be gathered based on a device, supplier, category or procedure.
