Before we outline the benefits that flow from a hTrak implementation it is important to understand the aspects of our solution that make us different from all other solutions on the market:

1. For our point of use data collection, we use the very latest mobile handheld scanners, running the latest version of the Windows Mobile Operating System. Rigorous testing ensures that only devices reaching our high standards of ruggedness and functionality are deployed.

2. We are an ASP solution, allowing us to easily integrate with core IT systems from our SQL web server environment.

3. We provide centralised product master data which is sourced from either of the 2 global standards organisations, HIBCC or GS1, or directly from the manufacturer. This eliminates the need for individual clients to gather and maintain their own product databases.

4. We scan and decode the manufacturer's barcode. This allows us to automate and/or mandate the capture of the lot number and expiry date at the point of the procedure. This greatly enhances the integrity of the data capture and eliminates many time consuming manual processes. We accommodate the primary and secondary data structures in both HIBCC and GS1.

5. Our intelligent back end server application allows us to run client specific business rules which can automate the flow of data and provide a flexible operational environment for busy departments without any loss of control.

6. We capture consumption at point of use allowing us to track both devices and procedural information to a patient if required. This greatly enhances the integrity of the captured data and significantly speeds up the replenishment processes.
